How to Care for Genuine Brass

How to Care for Genuine Brass

Anacua House offers several high-quality home accents and utensils in genuine unlacquered brass- a beautiful and sustainable metal alloy made from copper and zinc. Brass is known for being durable and naturally anti-microbial, and some cultures believe using brass utensils has health benefits. Brass may tarnish or patina over time or with moisture exposure- here's how to keep your brass coasters, candleholders, bowls, trays, and utensils beautiful:

coconut oil in bowl with spoon

COCONUT OIL

We recommend wiping your brass dry immediately after use to avoid water stains and applying a layer of coconut oil from time to time to help it age evenly and beautifully.
vinegar in a bottle and bowl of flour side by side

VINEGAR & FLOUR

To clean aged brass, mix flour & Vinegar to make a paste & rub it on the product.
